Well, well – water where it’s really needed
Here at Lifeline Language Services we know that keeping our staff well-hydrated helps them perform at their best through the day (plus, it’s really good for their skin!). You’ll probably also know from previous posts that we take our CSR very seriously.
We’ve been able to combine the two by investing in watercoolers from AquAid. Our many years’ relationship with AquAid has also allowed our company to help those less fortunate, because with every purchase of water from AquAid (and our team gets through a lot!) an automatic donation is made to the Africa Trust. These funds are used to build ‘Elephant Pumps’ – a modified version of an ancient Chinese rope pulley system. One of these pumps is already installed in Africa on our behalf and provides a much-needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for many. It’s located in Zimbabwe in Manicaland – a province in the north eastern highlands – where it should readily provide safe drinking water for upwards of 300 people for decades to come!
To date AquAid have built over 5,000 such Elephant Pumps across parts of Zimbabwe, Malawi and Liberia, and have donated in excess of £10 million to charity – so it’s a really GOOD thing to be part of!
As you can see, our company name’s proudly displayed on our well and here’s pictures of a couple more too – pretty cool huh? If you’d like to get involved with Aquaid yourself for your teams, the link’s above.
