Interpreter and Translator Opportunities in Lancashire, Cumbria, Manchester, Merseyside, the North-West, the UK, Europe, the World...

Are you a CRB-cleared DPSI-qualified (or better) UK interpreter or MITI/MCIoL translator?
Interpreter & translator opportunities particularly NW UK - Lancashire, Cumbria, Manchester, Merseyside

Language Translation

Professional, qualified interpreters & translators can benefit from the opportunities we offer as a leading UK interpreter & translation provider. With growing contracts, we're seeking Lancashire, Cumbria, Manchester, Merseyside and near-North-West based interpreter partners to support our expanding assignments here, so if you're a NW interpreter or translator, qualified to DPSI or better and CRB cleared we'd love to hear from you.

Why be an interpreter or translator for us?

We're one of the good guys. We won't bully you, we will pay you, and we'll ensure you receive properly-briefed professional assignments handled by our experienced friendly project managers.
While we translate in most main languages, interpreter languages in particular demand are Italian, Chinese, Urdu, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, and Greek, but we're usually seeking interpreters in most UK community languages* especially around Manchester, Merseyside, Cumbria and Lancashire.
*Major UK community languages are generally recognised as Urdu, Arabic, Gujarati, Polish, Bengali, Punjabi, Hindi, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Somali, Tagalog, Farsi, French and Russian.
Preston-based, we particularly support PCTs, housing associations, insurers, courts/solicitors and social services around NW UK (Lancashire, Cumbria, Merseyside and Manchester), but deliver a growing range of interpreter assignments UK-wide. These include many BSL & SSE assignments, for which interpreters are particularly in demand. If you're a qualified BSL or SSE interpreter, we'd love to hear from you.

Keep up...

Accelerating technical and commercial developments continually demand new specialisms and languages - you may have precisely the interpreter or translator expertise we seek. We offer in return interpreter and translator assignments on key projects for major clients across many sectors in leading technologies and businesses. However, we also expect our translator and interpreter team to keep up with developments; Continual Professional Development is as important for our partners as it is for our in-house guys. That is, VERY.

Lancashire, Merseyside, Cumbria and Manchester NW UK interpreting resources are only a part of our wider needs and we're always seeking translators - ideally with Trados - experienced in technical, commercial and financial material. Most European, and increasingly Asian and FSU, languages are in demand.

But, we're not for everybody.

Please appreciate we have demanding standards! We're always happy to hear from potential new suppliers, and like any other professional organisation we pride ourselves on the skills and qualifications of our team. We are interested in hearing from:

- DPSI/ NRPSI registered or MITI interpreters. We will require copies of up-to-date CRB and NRPSI certificates.

- Professionally qualified and experienced mother-tongue translators in most languages, especially mother-tongue English translators able to work in Trados Tag Editor or MemoQ, and translators holding CIOL/ ITI membership able to handle certified translations. Proven specialist subject expertise is also very welcome.

Still interested?

If you're interested in becoming a supplier with Lifeline and you fit the above criteria, please send your CV, rates and all supporting documentation to us at suppliers at Lifeline - be sure to describe your experience and specialisms. We may ask for copies of specialist qualifications and memberships. We will review your application and contact you if we need any further information or a test piece. PLEASE be patient - we receive hundreds of applications.

Do please bear in mind however that if you do not yet meet the above criteria then unfortunately we will probably be unable to process your application. If you have a particularly unusual language there may nonetheless be opportunities if you are willing to undertake the necessary professional development, and we may be able to advise appropriate candidates.

Please don't call us...

... unless you've submitted details as above. We'll just refer you back to this page anyway, so save yourself the phone bill!

Finally, as translators and interpreters ourselves, and a Language Company instead of just an agency, we partner with leading language companies across Europe and Asia; if you're a successful translation company seeking a committed, excellent UK partner, please get in touch!
