| We've thought about what you'll be looking for in an insurance translator or insurance interpeting provider, and tried to anticipate your questions, below. However, if you don't see what you need to know please call or drop us a line! | ||||
| "We have a pretty wide base of insurance translation clients - here and abroad. What languages do you support?" | ||||
| Over 150, but we have exceptional experience in the UK community languages - Polish, Urdu, French, Bengali, Spanish, Kurdish, Greek and Turkish, German, Punjabi, Gujarati and Hindi, Russian, Lithuanian and Latvian, Arabic, Portuguese and Farsi. Working with clients in the community sector since 1990 we have established a remarkable insurance translator base, working both from and into English, complemented by our nationwide network of quality interpreters. | ||||
| "We bought translation once before, it was rubbish. How do we know you're different?" | ||||
|
Fair question. There are 1000's of translation providers - it's fair to say not all are equal (check out our Funstuff page...) We can reassure you, however: Firstly, by who and what we are. We have been providing language services to leading corporations, public sector clients and NGO's since 1990 - so we're doing something right. We are Full Members of the UK Association of Translation Companies and Corporate Members of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. Secondly, because we're not an Agency. As a language Company we translate and review in-house, with comprehensive quality checks and project management. Check out our Translation, Transcription and Interpreting pages for more information on how we work. Thirdly, through our experience and connections. Language in established communities is different - it's constantly changing. In established communities vocabulary has evolved extensively to adopt many English words, while written fluency is declining with exposure to English media. To communicate effectively with an established community, your choice of insurance translator must be made with care, recognising the influence of long-term residency on language. For example, many language providers simply send Urdu translation to a translator in Pakistan. These translators are often well-educated and very good, but their sophisticated language and lack of contact with community Urdu means the translation - while probably accurate - will be of limited understandability to your audience. By contrast, Lifeline has developed close links with our local community, with access to excellent linguists within that (including qualified legal practitioners) able to translate appropriately for your community. But most importantly, by asking those who really know - our clients. Here's a few kind words from some: "Your company always provides a fantastic service!" - Remploy "A fantastic and professional service that responds immediately to business needs and the needs of our customers" - Boston Mayflower Housing Association “In the 6 years Lifeline have been working with us they have consistently proven a reliable and professional supplier. We have never experienced a single problem in over 100 assignments, and my users have always been pleased with the standard of interpreting provided" - Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust "In all my dealings with yourselves, I found your transcripts to be of a consistent high quality and the service to be very efficient and professional... friendly and helpful" - Craven District Council |

| "OK, but sometimes we need insurance translation for legal purposes, like a Spanish court case. How do you deal with that?" | ||||
| As a Translation Company we can Certify documents, or have them Notarised, or even Legalised if needed. In this way an insurance translation can be given legal validity in a court of law or other proceedings - you can learn more on our Legal page. For Spanish cases we also have a Spanish Government-approved Sworn Translator on our in-house staff (which makes us pretty unique in the UK); she can personally stamp documents for use under Spanish law. However, this is a complex area - if you have specific insurance translation needs for a particular country, please ask as we have considerable expertise in this field. | ||||
| "Insurance translation can get pretty technical - engineer's reports, medical or doctor's assessments and so on. Can you really handle these?" | ||||
| Over 17 years we've established an excellent translator base, including specialists in most technical and medical fields in a wide range of languages, and have delivered many technical translations like these. We also have a Chartered Engineer on our staff to advise translators and ensure technical language is correct. Have a look at our Technical translation page for more information. So yes, we can really handle these. | ||||
| "Finding insurance interpreting's tricky outside London - actually it's not easy IN London! - can you help?" | ||||
|
Our partner database includes hundreds of interpreters all over the UK, as well as worldwide. Whatever language your insurance interpreting needs, wherever you need it, there's an excellent chance we can help. Here's another client's comment: 'I want to express my appreciation of the outstanding service... I didn't expect to find anybody to assist with an urgent need for a interpreter at 24 hours notice, particularly given our location in North Scotland. I contacted 6 Companies and 2 Universities, of which 3 said no immediately and 3 promised to call me back but didn’t... Only you called back regularly to keep me informed and ultimately to confirm you had ... someone with the necessary Russian / Croatian / English skills and could accommodate the timeframe... he not only did an outstanding job but was extremely flexible... Everyone spoke very highly of him and I would like to pass on my thanks to him also. If we have similar need in future, you will not be the first company I contact – you will be the only one.' - Norfrost Thanks Alan, much appreciated and glad we could help! |
