    Masses! English translation from Spanish, French and German, as well as Dutch, Polish, Russian and Italian are core business, and our English translation receives many compliments.   • I need some English translation - anything I should know?
    Most importantly, use an experienced, mother-tongue, professional translator to avoid giving unplanned entertainment - check out our Fun Stuff page for some examples!     Remember English is less structured, and correspondence less formal, than most languages - English translation from e.g. French may shrink considerably. Punctuation in English translation may also change - see our French and German pages for some examples. Commas and points in numbers are also reversed in translation from many languages - so a French 1.234,56 in English translation becomes 1,234.56.   • Cool. So, what's a "certified translation" then? Is that like "sworn"?
    Correct - the English equivalent to Europe's "sworn translation" is the certified translation. A certified English translation must be done by a well-experienced translator holding a good language qualification, denoted by membership of the Chartered Institute of Linguists or the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. They have a 'seal', to stamp documents so giving them legal status. We have these translators on our team, and provide both certified and notarised English translation - see our certified page for more details.
  • Can you handle English transcription too? Or even other language transcription?
    We do masses of English transcription, and lots in other languages - see our Transcription page. English transcription is popular for legal use, conferences and research, and can be mono- or bilingual - so the English transcription may also have a translation. For legal use this often requires certified transcription. Software developers are also major English transcription clients.
