| D'you do much English translation? | ||
| Absolutely loads. English translation from Spanish, French and German, as well as Dutch, Russian and Italian, are staples of our business, and our much-complimented English translation makes us excellent partners. We also offer many other combinations - check out our language translation page. Every English translation is reviewed by a second professional translator, and we have an excellent record in, to name a few, engineering, logistics, insurance, legal, environmental, health & safety, general commercial and financial, as well as serving hundreds of private clients. | ||
| I'm looking for some English translation - anything I should know? | ||
| Well, in English translation grammar is less structured, and correspondence less formal - so English translation from e.g. French may shrink considerably. Punctuation may also be different in English translation - have a look for example at our French and German pages for more information. Commas and points in numbers are also reversed translating from most European languages or Russian. So a French 1.234,56 in an English translation becomes 1,234.56. | ||
| Do you provide English interpreting too? | ||
| Sure - we handle English interpreting UK-wide, as well as across Europe and increasingly further afield. To discuss your English interpreting needs with our friendly project managers, just call us on 0800 1772 558858 or drop an e-mail to our English interpreting team | ||
| Cool. So, what's a "certified translation" then? Like "sworn"? | ||
| Yep - the English equivalent to Europe's "sworn translation" is the certified translation. A certified English translation must be done by a translator holding a good language qualification and having extensive experience, denoted by membership of the Chartered Institute of Linguists or the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. They have a 'seal', to stamp documents so giving them legal status. | ||
| Can you handle English transcription? Or even other language transcription? | ||
| We do stacks of English transcription, and a lot of transcription also in other languages - see our Transcription page. English transcription is popular for legal use, conferences and research, and can be mono- or bilingual - so the English transcription may also have a translation. Legal use often requires certified transcription. Voice recognition developers are also major transcription clients. | ||
| Good enough... the other thing's English voiceover or subtitles? | ||
| That's us too - see our voiceovers page. Since we're primarily a language service, the translation standard of our English voiceover and subtitles scripts is identical to that of our commercial English translation - mother-tongue, professional translators + 100% review by our in-house linguists - something you won't find from many studios! Some male English voiceover talents include (click name for sample): Howard; Chris; Phil and Ricky, while some female English voiceover talents include Kate, Sarah and Sally. English subtitles are available either rendered into the video or as subtitle files. |
